KiWS' Bulldog Ican D. "Hottie"
(KIWS' Bulldog Icon x KIWS' Bad Mamma Jamma)
litter 'd'
whelped 9-22-03
We decided this is the puppy that will remain here to take Jamma's place and become Che's new competition dog. Very big shoes to fill and we felt we could not go wrong with either female. Both pups are amazingly similar as one would expect with the breeding.
When the pups were 10 weeks of age, we took both pups to a motorcycle festival to socialize and to see if we could find any weaknesses in temperament in order to help us make a decision. To our excitement both pups pranced around like they owned the place. Between the Harleys, generators, live rock band, flashing Christmas lights, Santa Clauses, other dogs, crowds of people almost stepping on them and tons of fantastic folks running up and loving them the pups really knocked our socks off. For such a young age and with such little previous socialization these gals did beyond our expectations running up to every person that slowed down to be petted and loved. The attitude we love to see, tail and ears up, show gait and a big fat SMILE these gals were dripping in. We really could not be more excited about this breeding pair and these two females. Both pups are also kicking dirt after marking their territory and have been for some time. We expect lots of attitude out of these gals. As we said, the pup we choose has some big shoes to fill and we so no problem with that in either puppy.
Below you will see pictures of this gal on a new tug we bought. This is her second time on a tug. She was full of drive and determination and carried with a full mouth and tons of pride every time, just like her littermate sister.
UPDATE 6 months
We are still really excited about miss HOTTIE. ALhtough we havent done too much with her we have worked her in all three phases of Schutzhund and she is looking very promising. Her tracking is phenominal for a puppy her age. Her focus work in obedience is also fantastic. Her bite work is coming along great. The only issue we have is she would rather by the man than the tug...could be worse lol. Hottie has a temperament like we have never seen on a puppy and can not be described in words. She is basically oozing with confidence and ready to take any one or any animal on. At the same time she is extremely loving and affectionate. She loves people who dare to come near her after her barking and spinning and just basically going nuts at the end of her leash. She really is a cool little dog with one of the most outgoing personalities we have seen. Very interesting combination of her sire and dam.
UPDATE 2 years
Well we have really sat on this little lady. Lazy and busy I guess, although that is over now. Her socialization has been almost non-existent. Over the past year and a half we have taken her out and "tested" her in the three areas of schutzhund just to see where she was at mentally and her natural abilities. Her food drive is high although not quite as high as her dam...Bad Mamma Jamma...Ive never met a dog with higher food drive than jamma and Im not sure it could get any higher than hers. This has made the minimal tracking we have done with her very easy. She has a great nose which is something I noticed when she was a very young pup. Between her nose and food drive, we think she will fair very well in tracking once we become more consistent with her training. Her intelligence is excellent. I would say she is HIGHLY intelligent. With the little training she has had she retains well and learns really really fast. She also is neither handler sensitive or soft. With these attributes obedience is coming along really nice and we are very excited about that. I thik Che' finally has a dog who can work with HIM lol. We have also tested her in bitework and are now getting on a consistent program in all areas. She shows to be a VERY balanced dog. She is definitely a civil dog but also coupled with a ton of prey drive. Her civil drive is nice and strong and confident and coupled with her prey drives she has a TON of fun out on the field. She gets very excited jumping and barking taking full solid calm bites and carries very well and proud. She has a great bark on her, very masculine and strong. As our trainer says, the more you piss her off the more excited she gets.
